Hey Guys, I'm looking to buy a laptop around 30-35 K range. I'm strictly looking for a 14" screen size.

I was browsing through online shopping websites and i came across this Samsung Laptop Notebook NP305E4A-S01IN on ebay.in

Samsung Laptop Notebook NP305E4A-S01IN QUAD CORE 4GB 1000GB Win7 HP 1GB Nvidia | eBay

Its config is a bang for bucks,

Processor : AMD Quad-Core A6-3420M Accelerated Processor (1.5GHz, 4MB L2 Cache)
Screen : 35.56cm (14.0) HD LED Display (1366 x 768), Anti-Reflective
Graphic Processor : 1 GB DDR3 AMD Radeon™ HD6470M (PowerXpress)
System Memory : 4GB DDR3 System Memory at 1,333MHz (4GB x 1)
HDD : 1TB S-ATA II Hard Drive (5,400RPM)
Operating System : Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Frankly i have no idea about Samsung laptops, their durability, service centers, heat issues and such. So, thats why i need your help. Please suggest if it will be a good buy or not.

I tried searching all over but there aren't many buyers for samsung laptops. That bugs me a little and i have no knowledge about AMD processor also. I hope you get the drift. Plz help.

Don't buy that Samsung laptop. It has old AMD processor and graphics card.

Buy this --> HP Pavilion G6-2005AX Laptop AMD A8 Quad Core/4GB/500GB/Win 7 HB/1GB Graphics: Flipkart.com: Compare, Review HP Notebook

This is the best bang for the buck laptop out there.

Thanks for the help. Config looks great. Just the 15.6" screen size is a bit wider than what i prefer. And are there any HP + AMD CPU heating issues ?

In laptops, CPU is never to be blamed for heating. It is the laptop manufacturer.

Around your budget you'll always find laptops being on the hotter side because manufacturers compromise slightly to bring the cost down. And if you're expecting to play games for 5-6 hours continuously, then every laptop out there will heat up.

This works completely fine. No overheating problem but it does run a bit on the hotter side like every laptop in this budget will. There are reviews in the Review section of the forum. You can read those. :)

I'm strictly looking for a 14" screen size.

cause 14" are smaller and lighter? 15.6" will give you extra display width. Perfect for watching movie and gaming. And weight is usually the same being in the 2.3-2.5kg for both 14 & 15 unit unless of course it carries some kind of Ultrabook branding and a 50k price tag.

heat issues

People need to get over this mindset. Its not like laptop from Asus/Dell/lenovo never heats up and HP has heating problem only. Some laptops heats up badly other don't. All depends on what cooling is used and what components is there. a fast processor & a midrange GPU cooled by one fan will cause serious heating problem (most ultrabooks). Also check reviews from trusted sources. Peoples that have owned them and not random comments in shopping sites like "you can cook maggie on a HP laptop".

Yes. Might be just me but 15"+ laptops with numeric pad doesn't really seem compact to me.

Really really value-for-money.

The best options for you are these
As well as HP 2000 2116TU looks good on papers
Nope.

Aside from a 15-20% faster processor what else do they have?

Intel HD 4000 graphics is nothing compared to HD 7640G + 7670M crossfire.

Intel HD 3000 graphics is nothing compared to HD 7640G.

Plus, A8-4500M beats the crap out of any Intel processor in productivity apps like Photoshop/GIMP thanks to miles faster OpenCL acceleation via GPU.

Plus, much better battery life in A8-4500M.

A10-4600M/A8-4500M's battery life is actually comparable to Ultrabook processors - i7-2677M/i5-3427M.

A8-3500M using half the power than normal laptop i5 2nd gen when in full force. And A8-4500M uses even less power.

Ico already mentioned its advantages over the other models in this price range. All other intel based models in this price range hold no advantage over it except for 15-20% faster processor which you wont notice in day to day tasks.
