Motorola defy..
-ve point are no front facing camera, ver 2.2 (many custom roms are available for 2.3)

Sony Live with walkman - is this the W8 walkman?

Both both these are 2.2 - are these upgradable to 2.4?

Defy and Sony live with Walkman(not W8) are very good options
Salsa is also good,the main advantage of this phone is it has a front facing camera.
And Defy is not upgradable to 2.4 but with the help of custom roms u can upgrade it to 2.3(I read it somewhere)

I'd say get Motorola Defy and install Cyanogenmod.

search for gplanet11 in ebay, i bought it for 13500/- few days back.. not a month ago.. get his mobile number and call him, i bet he still have some defy spare.. if u are lucky you will get it within 14k

galaxy y is not even comparable to these. defy is a mid-high end smartphone, where galaxy y is strictly an entry lvl smartphone.. probably the cheapest.

about HTC, it is a well reputed company and like samsung, HTC also makes the best quality smartphones. you may have a little service center issue ( its not available everywhere), leaving that, HTC is always a great buy, little pricy though, still.. HTC sense is mindblowing, check their website

Its very much reliable buddy and according to me its better than samsung or any/every other brand (except apple with whom no one can compete )
