I have almost decided on nexus 5. But I have another problem. I have an old Nokia n79 which I use sometime with my same SIM as my HTC. Nexus uses a micro SIM where as other two use a mini SIM. Is there any way I can use same SIM card on nexus as well as on my old phone?

there are adapters but they can be risky because they can ruin the sim slot,i suggest you get another sim to use on the N79 instead

Hi, due to budget constraint, i had to keep on hold my intended purchase of Nexus 5. Now i want to buy something in the 15 - 16 K range. My choices are Moto G2 or Moto X1 (if stretch my budget a little more). However, i am also thinking of L730 / L735 (Not currently available in India. But expected by end of Dec'14 as i read some where.) Can some one advice me on Lumia?. I have never used a windows phone.

Lumia 730 has already launched last month
I have a 720 and an 820 at the moment
The 720 and 730 aren't that different in terms of camera, battery etc so ill give you my experience based on my 720
The 730 packs more ram and a quad core CPU as compared to the 720 so its performance is better
My 720 lasts me 1.5 days of heavy usage easily and the camera is unmatched in low light and challenging scenarios
Often I find myself taking better low light pics on my 720 than even my 1200D (720/730s wide lens and aperture allows this but if I use a tripod and decrease shutter speed and careful adjustment, the 1200d can match the same shot, tedious but effective)
Windows phone 8.1 cyan is a very smooth and light os and doesn't need very high end hardware and often outperforms android on the same hardware
As for apps, people here like to assume it lacks apps or is limited but I find windows phone very balanced and well made
I feel the lack of USB otg and a native snapchat client but I'm satisfied because of excellent third party apps which I prefer to use than the official apps on my iPad and nexus 5(otg support and official snapchat etc are in the works and will release soon)
So far the only thing lacking is a bunch of games here and there but windows phone does what a phone should do and can handle the existing games very well
I do find slight delay in launching apps sometimes but that's because the 720 has only 512mb ram,my 820 is the smoothest device I've used so far thanks to its 1gb ram but I end up using my 720 thanks to its superior battery life and low light performance
The 730 sits right in between the 720 and 820 IMHO ,it has the pros of both and packs in 1gb ram,a SD400,6.7mp Carl Zeiss lens with 1.9 aperture and the 730 won't have the delay issues i sometimes face on my 720( though I should mention that its a minor issue and hardly noticeable on my 720 and I just included for comparison)
One thing which disturbs me about the 730 over the 720 is the lack of glance screen and lack of capacitive keys and camera button but of course this is purely a thing for user preference and in no way a con
I suggest you get the 730 I'm sure you'll love it
Also don't listen to naysayers of windows phone, most of them haven't used Windows phone and just generalise(no offence to anyone, just something I notice about most of my friends these days until they see my phone)
If you have any further questions pls feel free to ask,ill be happy to solve any doubts you have :)

Thank you for the details !. Iam not into much games on mobile except for occasional candy crush saga. I need a good VFM phone for my calls (which are many and some times long, browsing- this i do a lot & listening to music (online / offline). Moreover, i need good battery backup & fast performance. Both are not good on my current HTC One V. It's behavior is sometime very irritating like - long delay after pressing the call option for phone to start dialing, delay in loading call history and message etc. If L730 is a good performer i am ready to buy it. My only concern is 4G. As every operator is trying to launch it very soon, i want a phone which supports it. I heard L735 will support it .Any idea when it is getting launched?

I wouldnt pin hopes on 4G ,Im not sure about the L735 but most of the phones in the market dont support the 2300mhz 4G band which DoT,India has chosen-exception being iphone and a few samsungs(not all, rather rare)
For everything else, the Lumia 730/735 will surely surprise you and give the desired results
I would avoid the HTC if I were you, cheaper HTC phones are often ignored for updates and quality isnt as great as the flagship HTC phones
for your needs, the Lumia will excel and outperform all android phones in that budget, only drawback is candy crush was pulled from the windows phone store, however it will make a comeback soon according to sources
Microsoft France apparently confirms Candy Crush Saga is headed to Windows Phone | Windows Central
also with windows phone, you dont need to worry about updates, all phones get updates even 2 years after release and even get new features etc so its a VFM investment
I suggest for 4G to wait till the technology sets in , even 3G sometimes struggles with reception here in Mumbai
so dont buy a phone just for the 2300mhz band
there is hope for the 735 and other unsupported 4G band phones in India if DoT introduces more commonly used bands

Yes, some operators like airtel have plan to launch 4g on 1800 mhz which is a common band among 4g capable phones. Do you know how is after sales support of Nokia? What Will happen now to Nokia phone since Microsoft has taken over?

its the same old nokia style support
microsoft has done a great job of maintaining legendary nokia quality of materials, software and after sales
my friends 720 (under warranty which expires in January) had some issues with his display, minor issues like random touches which came rarely,he went to the service centre and they gave him a new unit within a day!!no questions asked!!
as for me,my red 720(i had a black 720 which i lost) has been running flawless for the last 2 years, still gets updates and new features etc all the time and the components havent deteriorated at all(usually the battery of most other brand phones go within a year)
im very happy with my 720,have had loads of bad experience with samsung and a few more brands in the past but Nokia has really kept up its standards and is the king of quality and after sales(for me atleast)
the microsoft takeover has just changed its name, the staff, quality etc remains the same as it was when it was called Nokia
