Need a new phone below 20k.

Low, mid-level Samsung phones are not good. Samsung sells its best at ₹ 60k. They won't give you that even if you offer 30K.
Times have changed.

Samsung has much more competitive offers in low to mid-range now than it did earlier (say till 2018). Still, it's not great for sure, but something like Samsung M30S is a great phone for 14k, best in class battery with AMOLED, which Xiaomi lacks, Realme's OLED models are above 15k. A series is not good for sure. New S10 lite & Note10 lite are great devices at 40k as well, good competition to OP7T, even though 7T is still better & cheaper (maybe Note10 lite has a better camera). Main problem with Samsung's old flagships is software support, S9+ & Note9 won't get future updates after android 10, but S10 lite & Note10 lite have android 10 out of the box.

You are right, they are better now. But can't beat Xiaomi. While I think the display is good, M20 I use hangs all the time. After Android 10 update, Google Handwriting Input crashes all the time. 2 months, still no fix from either end.

My phone hanging issue is so severe that it auto called emergency number in between working ok and hanging. Luckily no one attended from the other side. At times when there is an emergency call to be made, phone hangs in between. You can't imagine the frustration.

asus' zenfone max pro m2 was a good device, but its been out of stock at flipkart for over a year now, even though max pro m1 is still available-anyone knows the reason behind this?

Has asus stopped manufacturing this phone or something?

Yes,it had some manufacturing quality issue as per online comments so asus stopped further production of this model.
