1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:The main purpose of the computer would be for some programming using applications like IntelliJ, Android studio and some light Photoshop work. Gaming will not be a priority as an xbox was just recently purchased. This will be my daily driver PC as well at home.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Around 30-40k. It can be stretched a little if required.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Windows 10

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:1 tb - 2tb

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:Not a primary requirement. If i can get one within the budget should be fine.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:A dedicated graphic card would not be required immediately. Would love to get a decent mid -high end processor first and then add the graphics card in 6-8 months time. I understand that some applications require dedicated GPUs to perform better but that is something I will forego now.Rest of the components are required.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:Within the next 1-2 months

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:No haven't built one before. But I will be building this myself.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Bangalore. Online/ Offline is fine.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:Would like to buy a system that can be incrementally updated. A good processor would be a primary requirement along with the rest of the parts. The graphics card will be purchased later only.

If i do plan to skip the monitor will there be room to upgrade to an i5/i7 processor after stretching my budget a bit ? Also are the other components future proof , esp the motherboard ?Also would it be advisable to wait for the ryzen platform to be launched ?

I would not recommend i3

Go for i5 7400 /7500 +Asus h110 board that will cost you 20/21 k
Samsung 750 evo 120 gb - 3500
Corsair 8 gb ddr4 2133 Mhz - 3800
Antec vp450p - 2600
1 tb - 3500
use a local cabinet if budget constrained -

you can also add monitor - Samsung 21.5 full hd + hdmi port LS22F355Fh at Rs 7,100 .. Not ips though

total around 41,000

Problem with Ryzen might be Amd virtualization Extension , Android studio emulator doesn't seem to support AMD well for windows .. Ryzen Will offer better price /performance but first search for the extension support for your required Software.. if it is well supported then definitely Ryzen , otherwise you will have to buy intel only .. Ryzen might also push intel to reduce price on i5 7400/7500.. wait 1 month and see how it goes ..

What do you mean by future proofing ? that 8th gen intel CPU will work with your mobo ? there is a strong chance that 8th gen will also be 1151 socket but h110 is already 1.5 years old chipset , so nobody can say for sure if it will be supported or not , the new chipset B250 will be supported if 8th gen is also 1151 socket but that will cost 7500 rs .. but there is no guarantee that 8th gen will be 1151 socket..

Max 32 Gb 2133 mhz ram is supported on that mobo and has 2 ram slots .. you will also need to use a 6th gen cpu first time to update Bios on that motherboard ( not sure if new h110 motherboard are already coming with new bios preloaded ) if this seems hassle then you can get i5 6500..
i5 7400 = i5 6500 in performance .. but 7400 is cheaper + supports Vp9 for youtube , so will use very less cpu while watching youtube
