Hi Guys,
I have been saving for over an year and now my current desktop is starting to show age as it has been with me for last 5 years and I abused it a lot. (i3 6100, GTX 960 etc.)
Looking to build a new build for gaming and moving from budget build to somewhat middle tier/decent setup.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: I play AAA titles. Majorly FPS only like Halo MCC, Doom/Doom Eternal/ Emulators, Also will be running few VMs as per my work.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: 80k. Can extend to 90k.
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10
5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: I already have 500GB WD SSD. Want to buy 1 TB NVME SSD.
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: Already have one. LG 28' 1080p with 144 Refresh rate.
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I have corsair 550 PSU and 144 Hz monitor so don't wanna buy. Espcially PSU if it can work since i bought it few months back only.
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:Q1 2021
9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes. Have decent experience as this build will be my 6th build in 2 decades. I like to hang on to stuff.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Delhi. Will prefer to buy locally. But if cannot find locally will buy online but from trusted on such as MDComputers. etc.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: A thank you in advance. Appreciated your response.
Following is what I have decided for now, hoping prices will either stay still or don't change much.
CPU: i5 10400 - 15500
MB: ASRock B460M-HDV Motherboard - 7500
HyperX Fury 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 DIMM 1Rx8 Black XMP Desktop Memory (HX426C16FB3/8) - 2800*2 = 5600
Crucial P1 1TB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD - CT1000P1SSD8 - 8300
RTX 3060/3050TI - 30000 - When it becomes available. Until then will game on my GTX 960.
Cabinet: MSI MAG Forge 100M - 5200
Kindly share your suggestions.
Will this be good enough for 1080p 144 for next 5 years?
I do not play on maxed out graphics as gameplay is more important for me. So dialing the graphics settings to Medium/High is no issue for me.
@SaiyanGoku , bro. Please share your suggestions if the build can be improved.
