Need a modem+router within 3k

My dlink 2730u adsl modem+router just doesn't power on.Anways I wasn't satisfied with the performance.Looking for a modem+router to use my bsnl bb connection on my pc as well as share it across different wireless devices in my home.I live in a two storeyed house, so I need the range of the router's signal to be excellent(my old dlink s****d).It would also be helpful if it has a usb port for 24/7 torrent download without powering on my pc.

Looking forward to suggestions.

I got the tp link w8968 router yesterday, installed it and have been using it since 24hrs.Range is good.Though the router heats up quite a bit.I keep it on everytime.Today evening my bsnl bb connection went haywire with pings showing 700ms and web pages opening very slowly.The router/modem was hot when I touched it.So I switched off the router for 30mins and switched it back on and it started working proper again.So is it a problem with the device or every modem/router heats up and underperforms when it is 24hrs on?
