and using other normal applications.

what about the availablity of the asus models

FYI asus laptop is not C2D,
dell vostro 1015 is good with a C2D, but you can get a core i3 based laptop as well in same price range also Asus P52F which is core i5 based laptop is in 32 K approx inclusive of taxes.
