3-4 years is a long time & for gaming rule of thumb is buy the costliest graphics card today to avoid regrets later.pentium G630 rig suggested earlier qualifies on this account so get that with one change.get 1*4gb corsair 1333 ram for ~1100 instead of spending 2400 for 8gb which is not necessary for your usages.
Well, i can change my Graphic card AFter wards, i need a future proof processor and mother board which does not need to be changed .....
when games stops working in the graphic card i will upgrade it but not the processor and the motherboard.....
in that case get the config suggested by @minion in the 3rd post.a quad core processor is good for 3-4 years & for mobo you can save money by getting Gigabyte A55M-DS2(~3600 on flipkart so local prices will be lower) & 4gb gskill ripjawsX 1600 ram.
there is no such thing as future-proof because nobody knows the future.if you are not going to change your processor & mobo within 3-4 years then it doesn't matter what you buy today.this matters only for those who change processor/mobo on a yearly/2 year basis.
3-4 years down the line nothing can said about availability of compatible processors for motherboard. Now AM3+ is used by bulldozer and piledriver.
Whether steamroller will use the same socket?Nobody knows.Though rumors say some things but we can't take that into account. The thing is even if you have a good lga1155 based motherboard in 2014 or 2015 and want to upgrade then there might not be any compatible processors available then.Even if they are available they might not be at appropriate prices. There might be better alternatives.
lga1155 and am3+ socket only look good if you in need to upgrade the processor near about a year from now or somewhat like that.
If you want somewhat powerful processor then take i3 2100 or a8 3870k.Even if i3 has 2 less physical cores it still has much better IPC(instuctions per clock),and hyperthreading. In games(with a discrete graphic card) i3 2100>a8 3870k.If you are purchasing a discrete graphic card then go with i3 2100 else a8 3870k.
If you can really wait a bit longer then wait for the arrival of trinity processors in India and get a quad core trinity processor.Again nothing can be said about price and availability now.'
Trinity quad core processors have a good mix of CPU performance and good IGP.
OKAY i am GOiNg for Apu AMD 3 GHz FM1 A8 3870K Processor as i am not going to change it but tell me one thing will the processor hang wile playing game or will it be with me for 3-4 years?(crash). thanks .. Please tell me some shops in nehru place where i can buy these parts and assemble them (reliable shop) thanks again
depends on what games are launched in future.when crysis was launched a few years ago even the most expensive cards of that time struggled at high/ultra setting but today even 3870K can run crysis smoothly at low resolution & medium setting.
all K edition processor can be overclocked.my friend bought 3670K & GIGABYTE GA-A55M DS2 from cost2cost,nehru place at good rates.
3870K is FM1 socket processor while asus M5A 97 is AM3+ mobo so not possible.also buy corsair/gskill 1600 ram since amd A series processor works better with 1600 ram than usual 1333 ram.also inbuilt graphics of 3870K is equivalent to 6670 so buying any card less than 6770/7750 is waste of money.
good to know.also ask prices of these parts at computer empire, smc & vipin imports too.also buy corsair psu from PL Computers(one of the only 2 shop in nehru place selling corsair psu).for directions see this:
