Bad choice buddy, anyway:
SMPS: CORSAIR SMPS-600GS (provided you won't upgrade much in near future)
If want to upgrade to very powerful system/sli in near future: CORSAIR SMPS TX750-V2 -Buy this if you plan on a huge upgrade later, a SMPS does not lose its value over time, else don't buy this at it will be an utter waste, a GS600 would be able to handle upto two medium range cards like 7850 later

GPU: ASUS GRAPHICS CARD GTX 650 TI 1GB DDR5 (a waste for this monitor, but its given so that you can upgrade to 1080p later)
Else: ZOTAC GRAPHICS CARD GTX 650 1GB DDR5 (would do for 1366x768)

PS: If you are open to AMD, this card spanks all to oblivion: SAPPHIRE GRAPHICS CARD HD 7850 2GB DDR5 OC

Thanks Tkin...I am not going for AMD cards as I have a fair amount of 3d work to do and I've always had problems with AMD cards & 3D softwares...btw, which series of Nvidia cards is better- The 500 or 600 ? The GTX 560 is also available within my price range.

Apart from the last card, all the others I mentioned are nVidia, did you even open the links?

the gtx series is mainly for gaming for the record anyday amd cards enjoy better compute performance than nvidia.....(i own a 680 myself)
you seem to have a vs550 now that's enough if you run a 650ti and your current system....if your planing upgrades in the future only then you should upgrade the psu....your wish anyways just get a zotac 660ti that would do

I would prefer Zotac over Gigabyte. What you say?
Zotac offers 5 years warranty
You could say that,, but GB has 3 yrs warranty, plus its Windforce 3 cooler is practically unbeatable:
Zotac vs Gigabyte GTX660, thermals:

A straight 13c difference is pretty inexcusable.
From the review:
When it comes thermal performance, Gigabyte's GeForce GTX 650 delivers an impressive load temperature of only 47 degrees Celsius. The GeForce GTX 660 cards generate significantly higher temperatures, with the reference card spiking as high as 76 degrees under load and Zotac's card hitting 71 degrees. Gigabyte's Windforce cooling solution helps a lot, keeping its GeForce GTX 660's peak temperature down to 56 degrees.

Temperature And Noise : Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 And 660 Review: Kepler At $110 And $230

The only reason I suggested Gigabyte because I had read the review earlier, but I have nothing against zotac, OP can get whatever he wants, both will serve him good, choice is his, whether he wants lower temps(waaay lower) or a 2 yrs more warranty :) :)

I have heard that Gigabyte has some issues with warranty services. So I would prefer Zotac over GB. Anyways its OP choice. PEACE :)

Re: Need a GFX Card & A PSU (Urgent, Buying Tomorrow)

5years warranty will be a waste coz whatever GPU you buy, it will be outdated in 3 years. the only thing the warranty will help will be its resale value.

and IMO, you should upgrade your Monitor before going in for 660Ti. that gpu on your resolution will be a waste.

and go through the links the members post. there is no use of yapping araound asking people to help if you dont go through the links the post. Capiche?

I am not getting one thing: OP has 3D rendering software as one of the main priorities and we all know GCN based AMD cards offer superior Compute performance than any Nvidia 600 series card. In fact HD 7850 can beat the hell out of a GTX 670.

If OP's requirement is entirely gaming, then GTX 660 2GB is the best choice aong with a Seasonic S12II 620 or Corsair GS600 PSU. But as 3D rendering works are also in the top priorities, a HD 7850 2GB is the best option. Most of the 3D rendering software support GPU acceleration through OpenGL, DirectCompute and OpenCL now a days and all the GCN based AMD cards do have a good amount of advantage over any Nvidia Kepler cards.

Re: Need a GFX Card & A PSU (Urgent, Buying Tomorrow)

In 18k, perfect gpu and psu combo for your system is Zotac 660 2GB (15k) with Corsair CX500W PSU (3.5k)

zotac 660 is not ati/amd :duh2:

Ohh...I don't know what I read yesterday...I must've been drunk or something...sorry

I did go through the links...I am merely stating the reason why I am not buying AMD cards, that's all.

It's for a different system that i mentioned in my first post. (not for the one in my sig)

You see- 3D rendering using 3ds Max or Maya is entirely CPU & RAM dependent. It has nothing to do with GFX cards. But a gfx card is necessary for the display of objects in a 3d viewport. I don't know if you'll believe me but AMD (ATI) cards have always caused my max/ maya viewport objects to lag...When I rotate/ pan or zoom into an object, I get really slow performance & low frame rates...Nvidia has no such problems. Besides Nvidia has two plugins for Photoshop & 3ds Max that I use.

I've gone through the links. Anyway, I've decided on the Corsair GS 600 as I won't be upgrading the system for a while. I will buy a better monitor in a month or two. Still deciding on the GFX card. Will let you guys know what I bought. Thanks a lot everyone.

Still deciding on the GFX card...btw, read in a few places that the 560 ti is better than the 650 ti..Is it not recommended ? I am considering the 650 more than the 660 as I feel it is quite adequate for my requirements...But if a 560 is better, I may consider that as well. It's costlier than the 650 though.

Buddy, You didn't use any AMD cards based GCN architecture. GCN or Graphics Core Next is the AMD's SIMD design to bring superb compute performance and gaming performance in a single package. The new GCN based cards are way faster than any Nvidia 600 series cards. Even a 14K HD 7850 can beat a 32K GTX 680 with ease in terms of compute performance. Re: Need a GFX Card & A PSU (Urgent, Buying Tomorrow)

OP is going for 3D rendering, then why some guys are suggesting GTX6xx series cards?
They are very bad choice for this case where main purpose of OP is 3D rendering, not gaming.
Either go with HD78502GB version or Older GTX560ti.
Never think about GTX6xxx series cards at all.
Talking about the choice of PSU, GS600 or TX650V2, depending on budget and OP's future upgradation plan.

Thanks. I was about to post this link when I came across your post.

^^
A 7750 beat a 680 !! :owned:

You own' believe, but it does.
GTX6xx series is a big fail in terms of computing power, compared to GTX5xx series or AMD 7xxx series. But this series is mainly targeted to gamers..

nvidia is down at the moment....plus look at the goddamn prices they should be sued for that a 660ti cost's 19+ whereas the next card would be way off that 19+ margin.....compute performance is pathetic considering my gtx 680 is giving me problems already so much so that i am buying a 7950 probably....you wont believe the stuttering...i'll put up a video shortly......................GCN owns it at the moment sad but true
