my phone port not wokring in DVD ROM drive???? plssssssss help

hi,

i have this pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-105 drive. in my computer there is no sound card inbuilt or add on card attached. the only option to hear the sound is through the phone point that is present in the DVD ROM drive which is below the CD open/close lid. so, how can i know if the port/jack is working. i have connected the headphone but there seems to be no sound coming.

i just wanted to troubleshoot it. went to my computer-manage and there saw the properties and tried my luck but cant get through.

if so, can you lend me to driver site where in i can get the driver also.

The phone out in your cd rom drive works when you have an audio cd in the drive. Most of the drives come with the phone jack you r talking about.
You can try this out. In any other case it won't work.
