my pc says no rootkit drivers found!!

i really dont know what rootkit driver is....bt from the past few months the transfer rate between my comp n any external drive and even interna drives has become very slow..1st i used to get atleast 9 to 10 mb\ps speed between my computer n a memory card or a pd or a hd...bt now i am getting only abt less than 1mb\ps speed...i formatted my pc,even got a lincesed antivirus NPAV....defragmented it bt no use!!!!!,....pls help!!!!!!!!!!!

first of all remove NP and install a freeware antivirus like avast or avira and do a complete pc scan. if scan shows no infection try checking for errors or bad sector though its unlikely it is cause of that.
