it did happen to me
just look for the files tht are gettin on to the floppy each time u use ur drive
and do a search(includin the hidden files) for them on the home drive on the HDD
and delete them
this should solve it

go here Similar problem has been discussed and tehre are many alternative suggestions given... hope u get it solved atleast with 1. thou u dint mention your OS! coz i dont think xp sp2 wud giv this prblem? 
i hav never experienced this problem. may be i dont hav antivirus scanner and so! 
coz in the link i gave, one of them attributed the prb to nortion internet security and antivirus and hav told how to disable floppy scan by symantec. go thro it. GL.
