This problem is basically related to converting a .mpa ( MPEG audio ) to .mpa but with a frequency difference. I need to convert a .mpa ( 44.1khz or 44100 Hz) to a .mpa file of 48 kHz.
I use DVD-lab pro to write DVD movies from MPEG files. It splits the MPEG file into .mpv and .mpa files. Most of the time it gives me error that the audio provided with the MPEG is of 44.1 kHz whereas the one needed for DVD should be of 48 kHz. It does gives me an option to transcode audio from 44.1 khz to 48 khz but sometimes it just doesn't seems to work. It converts all the files well but with some of the files ( Every 3 in 10 )it just transcodes the audio till a certain length and shows finished, even if the file has been transcoded for say x minutes. I have a movie of 1 hour 32 minutes and i have the audio of the file in .mpa format but every time i convert this .mpa to 48khz it just shows finished message at 32 min 34 seconds. The time varies for different movies.I was just giving you an example to explain the problem.

So can anyone suggest me a way to convert .mpa to .mpa ( 48 kHz )?
If not .mpa ( 48 kHz ) the is there any way i can convert this to .ac3 ( 48 kHz )?
Can anyone suggest me any other software to convert a .mpg file to .mpv and .mpa?

Any help will be appriciated .....
Thanks in advance.

First download all these files.

BeSweet
BeSweet GUI
AC3enc

Download and extract the Besweet, the BesweetGUI and the AC3enc to the same folder.
Launch BesweetGUI.
Select where the Besweet.exe is located by clickin on the Besweet open icon
*www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/images/guides/129419/besweetac31.png
Select your audio source by clickin on the Input open icon
1. Select where the audio file is
2. Select file format, WAV,MPA/MP2 or MP3
3. Double click on the file to select it
4. Hit OK
*www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/images/guides/129419/besweetac32.png
Configure AC3
Select under AC3ENC -> AC3
Select under SSRC -> Downconvert Sample Rate
*www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/images/guides/129419/besweetac33.png
Click on SSRC in the menu to the right.
Change the Sampling rate to 48000. (DVD requires 48khz audio)
Click on AC3 & OGG
Change the bitrate to 224 kbit/s or 192 kbit/s. It should be enough for stereo audio. If making Dolby Digital 5.1 you should use higher bitrates, but if your source is not 5.1 audio(6 channels) it is no use to make DD 5.1 audio.
Last click on the WAV to AC3 and besweet will convert the audio to AC3

Now you should have got a .ac3 file that you should be able to use in your authoring tool or multiplex with your video. If you have installed a AC3 decoder you should be able to play the .ac3 with Media Player.

Thankz

Thanks club_pranay.I already had BeSweet but never knew that this software was used for audio conversions.Actually i found it somewhere in my old CD's and never tried it.

It was awesome. It really convereted the mpa to ac3.Actually i wanted to convert mpa to mpa ( 48 Khz ) but ac3 will also do.Thanks a lot.Now i know why conversion gave an error. It was because there was a stream error (as shown by BeSweet ) and BeSweet features error correction feature that is really great.

Thanks a lot dude. Now i can write video-DVD's in peace.

I don't know exactly how you can introduce mp3 pro into an avi.I think you should give TMPGEnc a try.It might let you add mp3 to your video file....I'm not sure but give it a try.
