I have Pentium 4 3.0ghz HT Processor & 4GB Gskill DDR3 lying unused.
I am thinking of buying motherboard so that I can use this PC for office work.

Which motherboard should I buy ?

Requirements :

1) Must have Pci-e slot
2) Atleast 1 PCI slot
3) Must support higher processor

Budget : Max. 3k

Go for a G41 motherboard chipset by Intel, check yourself for various manufacturers as your budget permits. This chipset has DDR2/DDR3 memory compatibility and also has 1 PCIe and 2 PCI slots. Here's what i found for you, don't know the exact price, but still worth a look.

well first check if that P4 is LGA775 compatible. though P4 @ 3.06Ghz should be.
