Mobile under 15k...

Hello Friends,

I have to purchase a mobile phone under 15k (cheaper the better). My requirements are:

1. Very sturdily built (should last at least 4-5 years).
2. At least 5" screen (for watching videos).
3. Very good call quality (Dual Sim).
4. Fast and smooth UI response.
5. Good battery backup.

No gaming, whatsapp or any other apps. No inclination towards any OS. I have thought about Lumia 540, 640 XL and zenfone 2. But thoroughly confused.

Please suggest...

Friends, keeping my requirement in mind, I have decided to go for Lumia 640 after doing some research:

Mi4i - heating issues (2 of my friends have it)
Moto G2 - battery drains very fast
lenovo K3 note - no gorilla glass and SAR rating is very high
zenfone 2 - seems like a lottery ticket. If u get bad handset then lots of issues (forum)
lumia 540 - 640 has better specs (except front camera which i dont need)
lumia 640 xl - Rs.4500 more than lumia 640 for better camera and screen size.... 640 is sufficient for me.

I will be purchasing the same @ Rs.8,999 from:

Please correct me if I am wrong and if possible suggest a better place to buy (read some bad reviews about flipkart).

Good call quality? Just letting you know that ZenFone first generation has awful call quality, I mean it would not be awful for people who use OnePlus or LG phones but to me it was, and basically anyone who uses flagship phones will agree. So unless Asus has done something really different then better avoid it.

If I were you I would go for the Moto G man. All I know that it is an enjoyable phone for that budget. No idea about any Windows phones, no interest in MS phones anyway :)

I dropped the idea of zenfone 2 after reading the negative reviews in the forum. My primary requirement is a bug free and sturdy phone with good call quality, which should last me for 4-5 years....

Hope Lumia 640 XL does not let me down..

Yes I have bought Lumia 640 XL. In any case I would have still opted for it against motog 3rd gen. reason - bigger screen, better battery, want to try windows phone (assuming it would be bug free, also I don't play much games) and I assume build quality of lumia 640 xl would be better than motog 3rd gen (its my assumption)...

purchased from snapdeal, will receive it by tomorrow..... will post the experience then...

Hello Friends,

I have got the Lumia 640 XL. Snapdeal experience has been very good. timely delivery, packaging was good, customer care is also nice...

As far as phone is concerned:

Pros: Screen is brilliant, no lags or heating issues, in call voice clarity and sound is great (better than blackberry curve), battery life is great, camera quality is great, interface has plenty of customization options...

cons: battery charging is slow, some apps like skype are not working (will tweak with updates n all)..., interface will require some time to get used to, SAR value shows 1.5 for India (disappointing)....
