SYMBIAN has been the undisputed king in mobile OS category
WINDOWS has its own market
ANDROID is being developed by GOOGLE.

Android is Open Source. anyone can download the SDK and make apps.
No royalties to be paid by the open handset alliance, hence cheaper phones.
Whatever Google does turns into gold. But it has to face some tough competition. WHAT DO YOU SAY

Android is surely going to compete with Symbian and would decrease the number of users using symbian

Windows Mobile 6 Professional beats Symbian hands down with respect to Speedy Sleek interface and Ultimate/Unlimited ROM Customization capabilities... but Symbian has a larger 3rd party software base. Getting my hopes high on Android. With the announcement of an impending SDK release and Apple's (unwilling??) resort to cover up the complaints against the sole iPhone , the Mac OS X mobile is also getting powerful. With Sony Ericsson supporting Windows Mobile (cf Xperia X1) and nVidia releasing the ultimate APX platform for Windows Mobile, 2009 might as well be a nice fighting year for all !!!!

Macintosh Mobile pwns Windows Mobile pwns Symbian pwns Palm(classic). Already Linux pwns Mac as the best OS. Now, with the iPhone being the only mac phone and android being adopted by numerous manufacturers, there will be more apps for Android, that too of a better quality, compared to MacMobile, due to the google awards for Android software. So Android is set to Win.

PS: @Anirudh, if you are reading: do you plan to earn another 25k by porting Mac4Lin to Android and making it iPhone4Android ?
