Microsoft Xbox 360 Sales Beat Sony PlayStation 3 In March

U.S. sales of Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT) Xbox 360 games console beat those of Sony Corp.'s (SNE) PlayStation 3 in March after Microsoft addressed earlier supply problems.

Microsoft sold 262,000 units of the Xbox 360 in March, according to figures from research firm NPD. Sony sold 257,000 units of the PlayStation 3 console.

Microsoft said in February that shortages of Xbox 360 prevented it from meeting U.S. demand.

Both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation were significantly outsold by Nintendo Co.'s (NTDOY) Wii console, which sold 721,000 units in March.

Wii was beating Xbox 360 and PS3 every month. But for the last two months, PS3 was beating the 360 and Microsoft said that's because of supply problems, while PS3 fanboys said that 2008 is the year of the PS3. So Wii beating 360 and PS3 is nothing new!!!!!

I think in the coming years,PS3 can trump XBOX 360(considering its more powerful).This increase in sales must be due to the recent price reduction & GTA 4 exclusive release.
