Memory Space issue in SD Card

I am using a pen drive (Storage element - 1GB mini SD card used with an SD card adapter). It was initially showing 1GB space, however when i formatted it with normal Windows formatter using FAT32. The resulting space that i got was around 350 MB .....

Windows XP is not giving me any options

How can I regain my vanished memory?

format it using the FAT file system and use a low cluster size..
