Media jerks(Lagging) in Windows 8.1 64 bit

when i play any media in my lapy it lags frequently in 30-40 seconds in Windows 8.1.
when i was using Win 7 64 bits in same lapy, it was working fine. Don't know wot to do? :cry::cry:

My Laptop is HP pavilion g4 2049tx
intel core i5 3rd gen, 4 gb ram, radion graphics.

I thought "Media Jerks" is an app like Mediamonkey.
Have you tried updating the codecs?

1) what software do you use to run the media ?
2) what are the temperatues when it starts lagging..
3)do you notice any spikes in CPU usage when it starts lagging (check process manager)?

1. any media software like vlc, wmp etc
2. normal temperature 50- 60 dc
3. no., not at all..

no.., bt the GPU driver(catalyst) has locked all players on power saver mode.

that seems very strange and pinpointing the issue based on limited Q/A is very hard..
Here is what you can try, download the Ubuntu distro from the official website, flash a copy of it in a 4GB pendrive and start your PC from it.. then try running a media in VLC and see if it still lags.. Most likely it should not but if it does, then it would be a hardware issue and sadly there's no easy way to fix it
Also since you mentioned "any media", im assuming non HD video is included in that..

Media jerks only happen when your HardDisk is going to fail and I'm pretty sure of that.

Download Crystal disk info from the below link and post the result here.
