I recently installed 3Ds Max 12 onto my F:Drive. I have Windows 7 at C:Drive and paging of 2GB in C.After installation,somehow,2GB from my C:Drive is gone. The Max files at My Documents are just around 48MB.What happened here?Somewhere I read that Max 12 needs 'Swap Space' of atleast 2GB that it takes from Paging. Is that what happened here? Please tell me how to change the drive to take that Swap space from.

Windows pagefile works in real time. Not for any installation purpose. Windows usually allocate some ammount of page file = your ram. It save your system from crashing when it starts running out of ram. Take a look under sytem propertie if it is set to auto or manual and if your c drive is running out of space. You can also check computer management to make sure on which partition of drive your page file is currently located. 3ds max will eat memory just like direct 3d games(heavy view port = more load on gpu ram and swap drive space).

even You install app on any Drive it will take some space in Your OS Drive for some system Files.. check that.. ( Autodesk folder in C Drive)

My recommendation don't jump on 2012 so soon wait for sp1 which must be out soon I believe.
