low fps problem

mr digit i have a query
iam using xp sp2 pro. freshly installed about 4 days ago
machine spcs..
x2 5000+ dual core 2 gp ram
iam having problem while playing games even warcraft, alexander , farcry are so laggy and with lowest settings it gives around 10fps
antivirus avast free updated
ive used restore point , reinstalling directx. nothing happened
pls help me used also registry cleaner
pls suggest me some way to fix it all other things runs smoothly but low games and even high dont work i mean lags
