Motherboard for x2 within 4500

So I am finally upgrading to a X2 3800 :D
I need a lil help in choosing a mobo though

Budget: 4000-4500

Must-have
1. complete linux support - this I can look up myself, so if you know a board that has decent IG within my budget, then plz post
2. integrated graphics - the best I can get within my budget.

Thats about it! Other minor things that I need are amd cool-n-quiet thing, and generally non shaky board.

thanks

Go for NVIDIA based MoBo as it has better linux support thru drivers (i m using MSI K8N SLI Platinum with NVIDIA nForce4 chipset and using Suse 10 OSS without any problem). ATI doesn't offer gud Linux support for its drivers (that's what i heard). Asus has NVIDIA 6150 chipset based MoBo which offer gud performance and also has onboard NVIDIA graphics. The updated BIOS takes care of X2 (I think new MoBos already have updated BIOS) so no problem there.

All the best!

@monley I think you were referring to this board: A8n-vm CSM
Thanks for the suggestion man, Linux support looks solid, integrated graphics also look great.

Another board that is linux compatible: Msi K8NGM2-FID

Now can some quote their prices in India?

I think u have decided to go for AMD Athlon 64 3800+ X2 (Socket AM2)
Go for AM2 sockets.
AM2 runs only DDr-2 RAMS which r faster than DDr Rams.

The compatible boards are:-

1. MSI K9NGM2

2. MSI K9NGM

3. ASUS M2NVM DH

4. ASUS M2NPV-VM

PLs get the prices for those.. 1st and 3rd shudbe ur first choice. Other things u decide on budget.
If u getthe pricesses for those...pls let me know. Even i am going for same combination.

My friend just got himself the following configuration yesterday, maybe this will help
ASUS M2NPV-VM - Rs 4600/-
AMD Athlon 64 3600+ X2 (Socket AM2) - Rs 6600/-

earlier we had a very bad experience with ATI based motherboards couldn't install linux on it, so this time we went for nVidia based MB. Haven't yet installed linux on it, but will be doing soon.
and yes it does need DDR2 ram.
