Hi I need a laptop for blogging, doing some 2d/video/audio editing so i checked up dell and found new inspiron 15 with the following specs

  1. Intel® Core™ i5-430M (2.26Ghz, 4Threads, turbo boost up to 2.53 GHz, 3M cache)
  2. 4GB (2 X 2GB) Dual Channel 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM
  3. 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
  4. 15.6” High Definition 720p WLED (1366x768) Display with TrueLife™
  5. 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330
Coming up to 43k so i wanna ask if it is ok to go wth this lappy or i should look for other options too

Yes, the above config is fair enough ! But if you want to make videos, you might want a bigger HDD but i guess 320 gb would be enough :)

Dell laptop u mentioned is having a poor Graphics card which is just good for watching HD movies. Never think of playing any new games on it.
I am suggesting one from Acer, till now the most powerful in budget.
It is Acer 5740G-6979. Price is around 43.5k. Configuration is mind blowing

Core i5 450M
4 GB (2 X 2 GB) 1066 MHz DDR3 ram
500 GB 5400 rpm SATA HDD
ATI Radeon HD 5650 GDDR3 1 GB Directx 11 Graphics card
15.6" Display (Max resolution 1366X768) with LED backlight & Acer CineCrystal Technology
4 USB port
Modem, LAN and Wi-fi
weight 6.16 lb
6 Cell battery and 3 Hrs battery backup

My friend has purchased the laptop last week @ 43.5 from Kolkata.Normally Kolkata is having slightly higher price than other big Cities. Instead of going to Acer official stores, go to some reputated stores in ur place. Price will be as I mentioned. The quoited price is always higher than the selling one. Once they understand u r going to buy, price will be reduced. So start hunting ur computer market.

ok......just check for the gfx reviews before final purchase.

Ya, you can check that. The tech site AnandTech is having a very extensive review about it. Also NotebookCheck is having review about it. In all the cases it is recommended as the best buy budget gaming machine.

I personally tested it (My room mate is having one). Crisis is playable in all the settings set to highest and with Anti-Alising 2X with 35-40 Avg fps.

And its battery life is really good. Even when watching 720p HD movies (blue ray Rip, H264 in MKV format) it is giving battery life more than 2 Hrs.
