Laptop under 25k

hi friends, one of my friend need a laptop up to 25k. he is going to buy it for programming as main purpose.please suggest some good laptops.i have heard that HCl,Zeinth are cheaper than others ,are they good performer?

HCL is good man...
u can go 4it..
consider Compaq too..
u will be getting a dual core entry based system within 26,500 to 27000 thousand.
specs are.
dualcore 2330 or 2370 poccy
120gb hdd
1.5gb RAM. (after adding... initially it might b 512mb RAM)
15" widescreen.

u can go4 acer too... but u will be getting 14.1" screen... thats the limitation.

let us kno ur decision.

I think there was a good offer going on for Compaq, i read it somewhere in the newspaper few weeks back. They were offering a good laptop and a PC with good specs for the price of 25-30k, just check it out.

Try to find Acer 4520, around 25,000 with 1GB RAM. Discontinued recently but you may find old stock. It's awesome for its price. Got everything. Complete Package.

You may find Compaq lappies at that range. You may also get Toshiba Celeron M lappy for 23,000 if brand matters. Depends on what is to be used for programming.

^^ Actually this is the right section. Mobile Monsters means gadgets which can be used while you are on the go. Mobile does _not_ stand for cellphone only.

also you can look at netbooks as this will offer you portability and are also cheap.
many new models coming this year capable of running windows vista.
try looking for anything above 10" screen size.
dell and hp will release there 12" netbook this month and acer will release upgraded model of aspire one with 10" screen in feb.
if netbooks doesnot interest you try looking for 14" dual core or an amd solution as suggested by others from hcl,acer,compaq.
