Laptop is not starting and not formating

my dell inspiron n5010 is not starting after a windows 8 crash after so many try i gave up in formating menu is says plese enable disk controller from bios ..i googled it i think my hdd is locker from bios i tryed using ubantu to format it make 1 gb ext2 primary partition but to install ubantu i need 4.8gb .so i tryed 6gb but it take atleast 1 hour but nothing is done i delete all the partition and my laptop has toshiba 320gb hdd and bios version is a04 and service tag is 6w7bs....plss help me guys

Try setting the BIOS setting to fail/safe defaults. After that press F10 to save and exit.

may be your HDD crashed, get it replaced if its under warranty.

if its crashed how i can use live cd of ubantu

i can play songs and video from hdd before deleting all drive
