First of all you tell me that are you gonna game on it or not?
Because if the answer is not then even a 30-35k laptop will serve your purpose.

No Gaming.. only multimedia.. Sometimes will prefer to watch HD movies.

You can get Samsung NP300E5Z-A0PIN or Samsung NP300E5Z-A0HIN and save your hard earned money.
If you want something really good then you can get Sony CB45 for 51k which has got Fulll HD display which no other laptop has got in that price bracket.

Will samsung give better battery life than any other brand.. Because my main concern is regarding the battery life. Then comes the Multimedia Power and then comes the rest. Thanks

Samsung laptops give upto 6hrs of battery back up while other brands laptops give 3-4hrs
