I think using LAN cards would be better.You get LAN cards very cheap nowadays.
Also the speed would be quite good with LAN cards.
You can play multiplayer games without a hitch with LAN.
To play games you will need LAN cards only to connect the 2 PCs so that you can play without a lag.

if you simply want to connect two PCs
then better connet them through serial port ..
no need to buy a LAN card
all you need is a LAN cord specifically made to connect 2 PCs
( there is slight difference in alignment to 8 wires in the LAN cord made for connect you to hub and one made to directly connect two PCs )
just ask the vendor to give a lancord for connecting 2 PCs .. he'll understand[/b]
