Is Ideapad Y400 worth buying?

Right off the assembly line
I so wanted to get my hands on Lenovo Ideapad Y500 but unfortunately its quite pricey.
I decided to buy Y400 the 14" version of Y500 from US.
Is it worth buying?I'm concerned about the screen resolution as the official site says it has 14" HD display (16:9 widescreen) (1366x768) (220 NIT)
i hav no idea what 220 NIT means but 1366x768 is not HD rite? So is this display configuration not bad for gaming and multimedia or should i not buy it?
And also tell me any other Cons in Y400 from Y500 other than the screen size.
Thank You.

220 nits = unit of brightness. More or less above average brightness and pretty good imo

The difference between y500 ( current Indian model ) and y400 is only the screen inches. Both are 1366x768. This is an hd display as 720p is considered hd and 1080p is considered full hd or fhd. I assume since you are getting this from us it will be the new 750m model.
If you are fine with the physical screen size that is 14 inches then this is an excellent laptop. Perfectly capable for all gaming needs at the native resolution at ultra quality even with single graphics card. My suggestion would be to save money and get the single graphics card option of the y400.

Otherwise if you want a larger screen size ( go to a market to compare 14 inch and 15 inch ) go for y500. The us models of y500 have a fhd 1080p display, although for a 14 inch a 1366x768 display is more than enough

Yes I said 720p is hd or 1280x720 which is less than 1366x768 which is 768p and hence 720p comes under 768p or 720p is supported by 768p screens
