Is graphics card necessary for Autocad/PRO-E applications

My friend is buying a acer ASPIRE 5000 series laptop. it is based on AMD Turion 64 processor . it has 256MB DDR333 RAM and 128MB shared integrated 3D AGP.
He uses a lot CAD(Computer Aided Designing) softwares. he wanted to know whether a graphics card is necessary for optimal performance?

no a dedicated GPU isnt requied. the onboard would do. However he will struggle with the RAM. Atleast 512 MB is required.
