Irritating glitch in WinXP

Hi,

When I open an application, the icons in the "open" explorer are haphazardly arranged. Changing it to "arrange icons by name/type" doesn't work as the preference is not saved.

Also, the "auto arrange" and "align to grid" options in the "arrange icon by" menu have become deactivated.

But this problem does not appear in the normal windows explorer.

Is it a virus?

How do I fix it???

In "Open/Save" dialog boxes, Auto arrange, Align to grid & Show in groups are always disabled!
So don't worry! its not a virus...

And about the arranging the items, open my computer and open any drive and arrange the items according to ur choice and after it goto: Tools -> Folder Options and in the second tab, click on the button "Apply to all folders", it'll confirm say YES and u hv done!
