Nothing can be better than a iPod for entertainment purpose. But, Apple is going to launch 5th Gen iPod Touch at Q3/Q4 2012. Wait for it if you can.

Dude u wont get 3g n gps in ipod... But retina display & awesome touchscreen makeover for them.

Since you are looking for a multimedia device get the iPod Touch. All the applications will work seamlessly with no problem whatsoever. I have been using one since couple of years almost now and have to say that there are very few PMP's that offer that kind of a complete solution for movies music and obviously the main USP for the iPod, Applications.

In your budget, the best options you have are Neo V and Desire S and if you can increase your budget a lil then you can have a look at Incredible S and One V also
