Internet YES/NO

My office computer is installed with 2 OS - Win7 64 ultimate and Ubuntu 11.10. The system is connected to LAN (intranet). When i tether my galaxy note's internet connection with this computer via usb, i can access internet only in ubuntu and unable to connect to internet in windows. When i connect G.Note i disable the LAN connection. But surprisingly when i run ping command its ok... i tried explorer as well as firefox in windows but didn't succeed

Did you install all software necessary???PC suite,etc???

android dont need pc suite, just install the android drivers (you should have got a cd with the box) and select usb tethering in wireless settings..

i'm sharing my phone's internet connection with pc by tethering. no extra software needed for that. the surprising fact is that i can update microsoft security essentials

So Browsers just time out or they give an error??

Just give an error something like check your internet connection

check in ubuntu browser network settings whether it is using direct connection or proxy connection & use same setting in windows browser.
