hey frndz............i recently took a 256kbps bandwith connection............but whenver i dwnld or upld anything it becomes very low (sumthn 4/5kbps). Y is dat so?????

Did you contact your local service provider? Are you sure he has activated the same plan which you paid for? It could be a connectivity issue too?

ya............he activated the same plan in front of me..............but sum1 told me that the actual dwnld rate is bndwth/8...............is that true???????????????

^^ISPs advertise speed in kbps(kilo bits per second ), but browsers and download managers show it in kBps(kilo bytes per second) . So speed in download manager is equal to speed in kbps divided by 8, ie 1kBps=8kbps
