Your AMD config edited. This is better than the i3-config.

AMD Athlon II X4 635 @4.4k <--Corrected processor based on your listed price.
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H @4.1k <--GMA version is almost extinct.
Corsair VS2GB1333D3 2*2GB @2.3k
Seagate 500GB 7200.12 @1.7k <--Corrected price.
LG 22X DVD-RW @0.9k
NZXT Gamma @2k <--Added price.
Corsair CX400W @2.7k <--This PSU is better.

Total --> 18.1k

Joker's suggestion:

AMD Athlon II X4 640 @5.2k <--Corrected price.
MSI 880GMA-E45 @5.3k <--Has SATA3 6gbps and USB 3.0.
Corsair VS2GB1333D3 2*2GB @2.3k
Seagate 500GB 7200.12 @1.7k <--Corrected price.
LG 22X DVD-RW @0.9k
NZXT Gamma @2k <--Added price.
Corsair CX400W @2.7k <--This PSU is better.

Total --> 20.1k

athlon II x4 640 is better. 4 cores.

also consider,

MSI 880GMA-E45 @ 5.4k - if u want SATA3 6gbps and USB 3.0. it is available at SMCInternational.

gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H and 880GA-UD3H are out of stock.

but does amd have proper support for linux
processor or graphic card? Both should work completely fine.

As far as "processor" is concerned, Linux has full support for x86-64 processors. (x86-64 is also known as amd64 as it was invented by AMD, and this instruction set is what all current Intel 64bit processors follow.) Else, you can always run the 32bit aka x86 version of a distribution.

Sorry, your knowledge is completely flawed there.

If a Linux program has a 64bit version (and you are running 64bit Linux), it will run completely fine on AMD and Intel BOTH. The 64bit implementation which Intel uses was actually developed by AMD. So, if it works in Intel, it has to work in AMD. :lol: (Rather, if it works in AMD, it has to work in Intel.)

Support of a program depends upon which version you're downloading (32bit or 64bit) and which distribution you are running (32bit or 64bit). Nothing else. Not by the processor make.

Both current AMD and Intel processors support x86 (32bit) and x86-64 (64bit) instruction sets.

However, if you have said, "a lot of linux programs don't support 64bit" then it would have made sense. Currently, it doesn't.
