3.5GHz?

Intel plans to introduce at least six different versions of Clarkdale CPUs and this 32nm Westmere generation CPU with Multi chip package 45nm graphics should work at speeds over 3GHz.
Intel plans that Clarkdale should replace the 3.33GHz clocked Core 2 Duo E8600 and in order to successfully replace a CPU you have to be the faster of two. We expect that top Clarkdale might run at 3.33GHz if not even at 3.5GHz or higher, as clock to clock Westmere 32nm CPU should be a bit faster than Penryn 45nm based Core 2 Duo.

There will still be plenty of users who will want to upgrade its current dual-core with a new dual-core as you still get very limited performance increase with quad-cores, and at the same time quad cores are hotter.

You can expect that European price of first dual core Clarkdale 32nm with an integrated IGP should land at €249.99 or close to $250 in the USA.

yeah, dual core for 250$ right, we aren't buying that INTEL!!!
Not you but gamers will.

Dude, 3.5GHz stock speed and a 32nm CPU. Possibly 12MB L3 cache.
Can you imagine how much it will overclock or how much it can game ?

I bet it can do 5GHz on air or cheap water cooling.

^^But who cares about 5GHz, when a Core i7 i920 isn't bottlenecked by 2xGTX295 too?
iT WOULD be complete non-sense.

Wrong you are. Current gen games suck at support for more than 2 cores.

Thats why I said this is exclusively for gamers. Rest will be happier with Core i5 CPUs.

^^^Absolutely, when u have Core i5 quad cores with 8 logical cores which can be OCed to 3.5GHz+ no doubt and at the same price point as the dual cores, most people would prefer that.
