installin Win98 & WinXP on SATA disk

I need to install Win XP and Win 98 on my 40 GB sata disk, this is my partitions


C: 10 GB Fat32 (Want WinXP here)
D: 20 GB Fat32 (Logical Drive)
E: 1 GB Fat32 (Want Win98se in this partition)
F: 8 GB (yet unallocated, will b used as logical or for linux)

i want an clean installation,
i already installed winxp on C: drive and then installed Win98se on E: drive (1 GB)...
but win98se is not booting dont know what is the problem :(... It just gets hack after this message, this happened immediately after installing win98se during my first boot into win98se.

can someone help me install both ?? :rolleyes:

wow so many windows users and nobody knows how to install both win xp and win 98 on sata ??? weird ??? :(

well first you should have installed Windows 98se on E: and after that winxp on C .. this way you should have no problem installing windows ..

i did that also but does not boot into win98:(

and also increase win98 partition to 1.5 gb or 2 gb if possible..

means only windows 98 and no XP and then also its not booting into 98.. ? whats your config... ?

i formatted my sata hard disk today mornin and installed win98se " ONLY " on C: Drive but still comp does not boot into win98se but it boots in safe mode. ? and c: drive partition was 2GB this time forgot to mention that.

Config:
Asrock intel 775i65G Mobo
Proccy 2.66
ram 512 DDR
sata disk 40 GB.

hey bro.. windows 98 does not support SATA.. so it wont boot into sata.. and + Sata can only be used as a storage option in windows 98.. so no luck in SATA.. for 98... :( sorry.. :p

but how come its bootin in ' SAFE MODE " ?(Big Question)

naah ! not a big question... in safe mode... windows 98 does not loads the SCSI drivers.. and SATA is not SCSI but it detects it as a SCSI device.. so no HDD drivers are loaded.. and SATA is just shown as Temporary Removable storage.. i tried it about 2 years back.. and searched google all the way for installing 98 and linux but that time had no luck coz only Windows XP SP1 supports SATA ... as boot device.. :p
