Hi Guys!

I have a P4 2.8Ghz. on an Original Intel 865 motherboard with 512 MB DDR400 RAM. My motherboard has a AGP 8x slot but I am using the intigrated graphics of the motherboard. As I am a casual gamer, I wanted to add a graphics card to my system so that I can play most of the new games that at present are not being supported by my system.

I donot have any idea about graphics card and which one should i go for and how much memory should the card have. Can anyone guide me in this matter as to which card should I go for, how much memory should it have etc etc etc. Please also give the price of the card if possible. As I have a very limited budget, say around 5K or so, I dont mind even going for a second hand card.

Please guide.

Thank you.

hey!
just buy a 7600 card which has 256 mb graphics memory it will deliver performance at a budget dont go for any card belonging to the geforce 6 series coz they are outdated and give poor performance

to be more particular at your budjet you can buy a XFX 7300GT which costs around Rs.4800 but if you wanna play some latest games even if you are a casual gamer then i recommend you take a XFX 7600GS which costs Rs.6800...
but remember you will have to verify that those cards are available with the older AGP interface...
if you are a totally casual gamer and dont play lot of games then buy the oldest and the cheapest low performing geforce fx 5 series... and you will have money to upgrade your ram!!!!!!!

the best thing you can do is wait until budget dx10 cards are realeased tht time your card will be futureproof!!!!!!

Thanks nvedia8800. BTW, how much did your 7600 card with 256 MB cost you. And are you sure I can get a XFX 7300GT within 5K. Are the costs you mentioned for a second hand or a new card and with or without warranty.
