IE lan setting for internet connection

we are connected to the internet via a router. my pc is one of the many on the lan. in the IE under tools -> internet options -> conenctions-->lan settings-->advanced we have mentioned the ip numbers and the ports for access to internet via proxy. the ip number here does not get saved to any changes i make and gets restored to the default ip address of 192.168.0.x
every day i have go to above loaction change the ip address and then save to browse

why do u need to goto advanced to set the ip addresses ?
just set the proxy address and port ONCE in "lan settings"
dont go into advanced.

Is your "automatically detect settings" switched ON ..
Turn it off and see if it helps
