Less than rs 1000... There are some interfaces that let you connect to the IDE connector on the drive. I think those are around rs 700 or so. I was thinking of doing this since the optical drives causes driver problems in windows XP. IE xp downgrades the transfer modes when the drive gets errors and its a pain to get it fixed. But with a USB to IDE removable its not such a pain.. It will be slowe than connecting it via the IDE interface though.
I have been using external USB connector to do it right now. Ao instead of using the conputers power supply it self it uses an external brock power supply.
