The Samsung 120 uses old technology, 2 platters of 60 gigs each, the new one uses 80 gigs per platter.. The 200 gigs would mean they are not using one side of the platter.. The 160's also use the 80 gig platters. Its just better to get the newer one. My 40 gig-4platter Maxtor just died on em :( so I am looking to see which one to get too.. It cost me a lot more than the 200 gigs going for now a days. Also I dont trust samsung, I want something like Hitachi/IBM, Maxtor or WDC. Even if they cost a little more. Have you ever tried backing up 200 gigs??

The Seagate 200 GB Barracuda PATA drives are wonderful drives.
I bought 2 of them 2 days back for 6250 each.

Go for it,you wont regret it.Stay miles away from Samsung.

Also new seagate drives come with 5 years warranty

Stay away from samsung drives , they tend to die.

I got myself a samsung 40gb and a western digital 40gb. The WD soo beats the samsung, i can feel the diff in the performace after i switched my os to the 40gig WD.
