Hi,
I have a PC with config:
Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Desktop internal hd
Asus DRW-24B5ST Internal Optical drive
MSI ZH77A-G41 Motherboard
Intel Core i5-3470
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB (2 x4gb)
corsair gs600

That is I have only: line in,line out and Mic as audio ports.

I have a 5.1 Harman kardon sound system(model no # HS300ME). It is some what dated.
Can you tell me how I can connect them together to use all the speakers.

Thank you,
Prathmesh

Ok. Which sound card should i buy? Also the sound system does not seem to have the centre, rear and sub as input. It has the coaxial input, and aux input. The only time i have managed to run all 5 speakers is when i use a DVD in the player.

you may get a sound card like the asus xonar dx, new or used, for that purpose.

yes, but his avr has an optical-in as well. xonar u7 is also a good option for an external sound card though.

Buy Asus Xonar U3 and use the optical out if your HT has optical input. But the cheapest option will be to use the S/PDIF header which is available in almost all mother boards.

I had tried to check about the S/PDIF header/connector on his motherboard y'day, but couldn't find any mention, not even in its manual.
