u need to have a lan card in both pcs and a cable attaching them (obviously lol..)

then go to NETOWORK CONNECTIONS in CONTROL PANEL and on the top right, under network tasks, select SET UP A HOME OR SMALL OFFICE NETWORK. a wizard will open up just follow the instructions.

make sure both the computers have different names and the same workgroup.

@ishaan----- you cann't configure a pear to pear lan without following the cabling rule.. both computers should connected by proper cabling .. using RJ45 connector--- with 568A cabling.

Dood get a lan cable crimped to be used with two comps w/o hub then follow the network configuration. W/o a hub the wire series is diff.

one computer : crossed pairs
another computer : split pairs
will it be work... no hub is there.

always go for this if you are confused about cabling
