How to Use 1 button for 2 functions

Hey guys
How the round button (which like game pad's directional button) on multimedia keyboards can be used as a directional button in games? Once I had tried it in Max payne,but it worked as a single button.

editing the registry i think digit mag told us to change the functionality of the multemedia buttons check out
