How to save videostreams?

Am talking about those video links that one hits only to find such videos being broadcasted over the internet via some player viz. WMP, Real, Quicktime.

Is there a player that might support these video streams and has an option to save it(via the player)?

well as far i know there arent any players
there might be other tools

but must videos can be saved with the save target as option !!!!

u can by using VLC player
1.click on "open network stream"
2.copy & paste the url
3.select "stream output"
4.in "stream output settings" select the file name & location & choose the video codec u want (prefarably mpeg1 as the bitrates are on the lower side anyways..)
5.click play.
6.There is no 6th step

if u wanna save streaming Music or vidz which are being broadcasted from Launch Yahoo or something like that then u should get MediaPlayerConnectivity Extension for FireFox it will give u the exact URL of the streaming media File then u can copy the URL and Paste in ur download manager or use wget command if u are using Linux
