Start Registry Editor by typing regedit in Start>Run
Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run .
Rightcilck in the right pane. Select New>String Value . Name this Alcmtr and enter Value Data as ALCMTR.EXE

but 1 drawback of this method is dat it is very easy 2 delete d entry from d startup folder
once deleated d program will not run @ startup
sofware designers, esp, av dvp prefer doing it thru registry entries bocos if dey put d entry in d startup folder and sum1 deletes d entry den a program will not start- and u no wat will happen if ur nti-virus doesnot start
If you know where the executable file is,then it is very easy.
You need a s/w like Tune Up utilities.Through it you can add as many programs to be run on startup as you like.
To add anything to startup.. just drop shortcut to StartUp button in Windows Start->All Programs... The StartUp button actually leads to a folder, the startup folder, where the shortcut'll b copied to... so next time... the application'll start auto...
