it can very well b done as entrana said
but 1 drawback of this method is dat it is very easy 2 delete d entry from d startup folder
once deleated d program will not run @ startup

sofware designers, esp, av dvp prefer doing it thru registry entries bocos if dey put d entry in d startup folder and sum1 deletes d entry den a program will not start- and u no wat will happen if ur nti-virus doesnot start

but im sure the creator wants the easy way just to get the job done
and i suppose he wont delete it unless he needs to

If you know where the executable file is,then it is very easy.
You need a s/w like Tune Up utilities.Through it you can add as many programs to be run on startup as you like.

Pls rep me if it helps you.

To add anything to startup.. just drop shortcut to StartUp button in Windows Start->All Programs... The StartUp button actually leads to a folder, the startup folder, where the shortcut'll b copied to... so next time... the application'll start auto...
