How to remove IE7 and revert back to IE6?

I have XP SP2 installed on my system...Recently I downloaded and installed IE7 on it...but as it was heavy on system resources ( My office comp has just 256MB of RAM), I uninstalled it from "Add/Remove Programs" by clicking on "Show Updates".

But after uninstallation, when I clicked the Internet Explorer icon from "Start men", nothing came up (I expected that IE6 will pop up). Then I reinstalled and then uninstalled the IE7 (again!) but to no avail....Then I tried to installed IE6 but it said that a newer version is already installed...

How can I remove IE7 from my system and revert back to IE6?

i faced d same problem sm time back...tried evrythng out bt in vain..

finally deleted the IE7 folder manually
deleted all registry entries using registry cleaner
reinstalled IE6...thats it
