How to: Handycam to DVD Video?

Please help me.
I have transfered the video from handycam to the pc. Its in the mpg format. I would only like to delete some scenes and then make a dvd video out of it. But i dont know which software to use. Someone please guide me through the whole process.

difficult to tell complete procedure here but the software for the purpose are
1. If using vista/ xp then windows movie maker. The simplest and the best software available. Vista has better WM Maker.
2. Corel Video Studio Pro X2
3. Cyberlink Power Director Ultra 7.0
4. Adobe Premiere 7
