How to get traffic into my blog?

please help me.

i recently launched a blog of mine at wordpress.com with name as *www.mrintech.wordpress.com

well the posts are not so good for now as i am just in a starting stage but i will post definitely quality content as a pro blogger soon.

well i simply wanna know that what are the various ways by which my blog gets promoted and gets traffic.

Write on topics that are very active, use categories and tags efficiently. Add most popular voted blogs to your blogroll. Write good and actively. Comment on others' (genuinely interesting) blogs. Invite many of your friends to view your blogs. Make it attractive, funny, and appreciate all sorts of criticism, don't frown when you are mocked at.

now 1) submit your blog url to google, Msn or use submittexpress.
2) and there are several sites giving you free blog promotions via blog analytics, stats..etc..
just put your blog's url there.

backlinks help you integrate faster. there is a school of thoughts which says dont go in for link exchanges. they say backlinks make you lose what is refered to as 'link juice'. linking with similar sites helped me, in my sites case.

but ultimately its your content. keep your blog focussed. keep updating your site atleast once a week. slowly you will find your hits improving.

really, if i could i would, but someone should just start a sticky on how to promote your blog. it would address and help all such requests.
