how to create "con" named folder in win xp ??

i tried to create the con named folder in win xp but i cant create the "con" named folder pls help me how to create the "con" named folder ???

We can do this by following method
STEP1: goto command prompt
STEP2: type in prompt e:\> "mkdir \\.\e:\con"
STEP3: verify by typing "dir \\.\e:\con"
STEP4: delete the file or folder "rmdir \\.\e:\con"

Note::Not necessary for to go only E:,u can create in any Drive.

* Several special file names are reserved by the system and cannot be used for files or folders:
* CON, AUX, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, PRN, NUL (other folders names that cant be used)

I wonder why would you want the folder to be named 'con' ?

Ooops sorry...so you stay inside the CPU. So i understand you need such folders. lol

well mainlly people hear these from some one that u cant... now obiuslly the question comes why not?? so these threads comes in...

if u search u will find quite a lot of this same question... some one should write a sticky i guess...
